The next meeting of the Corporations, Securities & Financial Services Committee of the Florida Bar’s Business Law Section will be on Thursday, January 18, 2007 from 1:30pm to 3:45pm in the Tuttle North room at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Downtown Miami in conjunction with the Bar’s Midyear meetings. The Meeting Packet for the Committee meeting, including Agenda and minutes of our last meeting (August 2006) is available online at http://flabuslaw.org/index.php?//list.committees=4/1 You are all encouraged to review these before our meeting.
Also available online at that same webpage are two recent proposed changes to Florida’s limited liability company statutes, and one change to Florida’s Revised Uniform Partnership Act. These were proposed by another Section, not by the Business Law Section, and have not previously been reviewed by our Committee. We will be discussing these proposals during our Committee meeting next week. I encourage you all to review prior to the meeting. Please note that John Eckbert, of PCE (www.pcecompanies.com), will be hosting a free CLE presentation during the meeting. Meeting attendees will earn 1.0 credit hour of CLE. This is scheduled for after our discussion of the legislative matters on our agenda.
